COMUNICATO DI CHIUSURA MOSTRA ARTE POSTALE
“SORRIDI! SMILE!” - Maggio 2023 - Agosto 2025
Con grande gioia e profonda gratitudine, annunciamo ufficialmente la chiusura della mostra internazionale di Arte Postale “Sorridi! Smile!”, promossa dalla Scuola Primaria “Francesco Saverio Nitti” di Matera.
Il progetto, lanciato nel 2023 con un semplice ma potente invito – sorridere! – ha superato ogni aspettativa. Sono arrivate oltre 200 cartoline da tutto il mondo, ognuna portatrice di un sorriso, un pensiero positivo, un gesto d’arte e di empatia.
Questa iniziativa non è stata un concorso, ma un incontro: un’occasione per confrontarsi artisticamente e umanamente su un tema semplice e profondo. Il sorriso, come recita il nostro bando, è un dono, una scelta, un atto di resistenza e di bellezza. La partecipazione di così tante persone da ogni angolo del pianeta ci ha confermato che l’arte può davvero unire, consolare, ispirare.
Desideriamo ringraziare tutti coloro che hanno partecipato, con creatività e cuore, a questa bellissima avventura. Un sentito grazie agli artisti e agli amici dell’arte postale, alle scuole italiane e internazionali, agli studenti e ai bambini che hanno inviato i loro lavori, e a tutti coloro che hanno reso possibile questa esposizione.

Concludiamo con un pensiero semplice:
un sorriso può cambiare una giornata. Duecento sorrisi possono cambiare il
mondo.
Ringrazio personalmente l'ex Preside Michele Ventrelli e la responsabile del Plesso Nitti Antonella De Feo che che hanno accettato con entusiasmo questo progetto, la Preside Caterina Policaro che ci ha permesso di proseguire con la mostra che volge al termine

“SMILE! SORRIDI!”
With great joy and heartfelt gratitude, i'm are pleased to announce the official closure of the international Mail Art exhibition “Smile! Sorridi!”, organized by the “Francesco Saverio Nitti” Primary School in Matera, Italy.
Launched in 2023 with a simple yet powerful invitation – to smile – the project has far exceeded our expectations. Over 200 postcards arrived from all corners of the globe, each carrying a smile, a positive thought, and a personal artistic gesture of empathy.
For more than a year, our school corridors transformed into a vibrant and colorful gallery. Children, teachers, parents, and visitors were able to enjoy the smiles created by professional artists, students, enthusiasts, and schools, all united by a single universal message: joy can travel, even by mail.
This initiative was never a competition, but a celebration: a chance to connect both artistically and personally through a simple yet profound theme. As stated in our call for participation, a smile is a gift, a choice, an act of resilience and beauty. The global participation confirmed that art can truly unite, comfort, and inspire.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined this wonderful adventure: the artists and friends of mail art, Italian and international schools, students and children who sent their works, and everyone who made this exhibition possible.

We conclude with a simple thought:
